1. PURPOSE
We strive to provide secure and accessible banking services to a global community of businesses. However, due to regulatory, legal, and risk considerations, our services are only available to customers from certain eligible jurisdictions.
This policy outlines the countries and territories where Arival Bank International Corp. (the “Bank”) can offer its banking services.
2. SCOPE
This policy applies to all current and prospective customers of the Bank and covers all services provided by the Bank as described in the Business Banking User Agreement. The eligibility of each customer is subject to jurisdictional review as part of our know-your-customer and anti-money laundering obligations.
3. REGULATORY RESTRICTIONS
Due to our regulatory license limitations, the Bank cannot provide services in or to the citizens of Puerto Rico.
4. PROHIBITED JURISDICTIONS
To comply with international regulations and mitigate risk, the Bank does not provide services to businesses that:
▪ are incorporated or operate in a prohibited jurisdiction,
▪ have one or more ultimate beneficial owners with a primary nationality or residence in a prohibited jurisdiction, or
▪ transact with other business or individuals that are incorporated, reside or operate in a prohibited jurisdiction.
We do not provide any facilities which bring us into contact with the following jurisdictions:
▪ High-Risk Jurisdictions subject to a Call for Action per the Financial Action Task Force (“FATF”) defined list of black list countries
- Iran (Islamic Republic of), Korea (the Democratic People's Republic of), Myanmar;
▪ Jurisdictions under Increased Monitoring per FATF defined list of grey list countries
- Algeria, Angola, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo (the Democratic Republic of the), Côte d'Ivoire, Croatia, Haiti, Kenya, Lebanon, Mali, Monaco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Philippines (the), South Africa, South Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic (the), Tanzania (the United Republic of), Viet Nam, Yemen
▪ Jurisdictions outside of the Bank’s internal risk appetite restrictions
- Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, Central African Republic (the), Congo (the Democratic Republic of the), Congo (the), Cuba, Ethiopia, Haiti, Iraq, Pakistan, Russian Federation (the), Somalia, South Africa, Ukraine, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Zimbabwe
5. RESTRICTED JURISDICTIONS
The Bank applies enhanced due diligence procedures, which may result in additional documentation or approval requirements, in relation to the following restricted jurisdictions:
