International Payments Manager

Position Overview:
We are looking for an accomplished International Payments Manager to oversee and optimize the execution of cross-border financial transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills to manage the Payment Operations team effectively, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, and drive process improvements to meet the growing demands of international payment operations.

This role also involves close coordination with Product Operations to support innovation and expansion in payment offerings, as well as building strong relationships with banking and financial partners globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the expansion and operational excellence of the Payments Program across SWIFT, Fedwire, International ACH, SEPA, FPS, RTP , and alternative cross-border methods, including digital asset payments.
  • Lead and supervise the Payment Operations team in executing daily transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee processes related to wire and ACH operations, including input, verification, compliance checks (OFAC, travel rules), and resolution of returns, repairs, and recalls.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Address and resolve internal and external inquiries about payment processing issues, delivering timely solutions.
  • Coordinate and manage ACH, domestic/international, and FX wire operations.
  • Investigate discrepancies in domestic, international, and FX wires while ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Act as the primary contact for payment-related communications with stakeholders.
  • Monitor and implement updates to policies and processes in alignment with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide backup operational support to ensure business continuity.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in international payments, SWIFT messaging, Natcha, or treasury operations.
  • Experience working in fintech, small startups, or BaaS (Banking as a Service) companies.
  • Strong understanding of SWIFT systems, including infrastructure, messaging standards, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in ISO messaging formats (ISO 8583, ISO 15022, ISO 20022 preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of wire and ACH processing, compliance protocols, and risk management in financial operations.
  • Familiarity with cross-border payment strategies, including the use of digital assets.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing operational teams in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
